Pattern Policies
Last updated: August 2026
Thank you for supporting White Branch Knits! A lot of time, care, and more than a few stitches go into creating each pattern. These policies are here to make it clear what you can do with your purchased patterns, what to expect from digital downloads, and where to turn if you need help.
Digital Pattern Purchases
White Branch Knits patterns are sold as digital PDF downloads unless otherwise stated in the product description. No physical pattern will be mailed to you.
After your payment is successfully processed, your pattern will be made available for download. Please make sure the email address you provide at checkout is correct so you can receive information related to your purchase.
If you create an account with White Branch Knits, you may also be able to access your purchased downloads through your account.
Having trouble accessing a pattern you purchased? Please contact me and I’ll be happy to help.
Refunds & Exchanges
Because digital patterns are delivered electronically and cannot be physically returned, all digital pattern sales are final once the pattern has been made available for download.
Refunds, returns, or exchanges are generally not available for digital pattern purchases.
However, I want you to receive what you actually purchased. If you accidentally purchase the same pattern twice, receive the wrong file, experience a technical problem with your download, or encounter another issue with your order, please contact me. I’ll work with you to make it right.
Please read the pattern description and listed skill level, techniques, sizing, yarn requirements, and other information before purchasing. Purchasing a pattern does not guarantee that it will be appropriate for your particular skill level or project needs.
Pattern Copyright & Personal Use
All White Branch Knits patterns, including their written instructions, charts, schematics, photographs, illustrations, layout, and other original content, are protected by copyright.
Purchasing a pattern gives you a license to use that pattern; it does not transfer ownership of the pattern or its copyright to you.
Your purchased pattern is for your personal use. You are welcome to:
- Download and save a copy of the pattern for your own use
- Print a copy for your own use
- Make the project as many times as you’d like
- Modify the project for your own personal use
- Share photos of your finished projects online
- Give finished projects as gifts
- Sell finished items you personally make using the pattern, as described below
Please do not:
- Copy, reproduce, or distribute the pattern to others
- Email or otherwise send the PDF to another person
- Upload the pattern or any substantial portion of it to a website, social media platform, file-sharing service, group, forum, or shared drive
- Post photographs or screenshots that reveal substantial portions of the pattern instructions or charts
- Sell, resell, sublicense, or redistribute the pattern or PDF
- Reproduce the pattern for use by a class, knitting group, guild, business, or other organization without permission
- Translate and distribute the pattern without written permission
- Claim the pattern, instructions, charts, photographs, or other White Branch Knits content as your own
If a friend would like to make the same project, please send them to White Branch Knits so they can get their own copy of the pattern.
Selling Finished Items
You are welcome to sell finished items that you personally make using a White Branch Knits pattern.
This permission is intended for individual makers and small-scale handmade sales, such as craft fairs, local markets, personal websites, or online handmade marketplaces.
White Branch Knits patterns may not be used for mass production, factory production, or large-scale commercial manufacturing without prior written permission.
Credit is always appreciated! When practical, I’d love for you to identify the design as a White Branch Knits pattern or link back to whitebranchknits.com.
You may use your own photographs of the finished items you make when advertising them for sale. White Branch Knits pattern photographs, illustrations, charts, or other copyrighted images may not be used to advertise your products without permission.
Sharing Patterns with Friends, Groups & Classes
Please remember that purchasing one copy of a pattern does not provide copies for an entire group.
If you’re knitting with friends, participating in a knit-along, or working with a knitting group, each participant should obtain their own copy of the pattern.
If you are an instructor, yarn shop, guild, or other organization interested in using a White Branch Knits pattern for a class or event, please contact me. I’m happy to discuss options for group or educational use.
Pattern Support
I want you to enjoy knitting your White Branch Knits project.
If you believe you’ve found an error in a pattern or need clarification about the written instructions, please contact me and include:
- The name of the pattern
- The section, row, round, or page you’re working on
- A brief description of the problem
- A photo, if it would help explain the issue
I’ll do my best to help with questions directly related to the pattern instructions.
Pattern support does not include comprehensive knitting instruction or individual tutoring unless we’ve made separate arrangements for those services.
Pattern Errors & Updates
Every effort is made to produce clear, accurate patterns, but occasionally an error may slip through.
If I discover a mistake that affects the instructions, I’ll correct the pattern as soon as reasonably possible.
Customers who purchased the pattern through a platform that supports pattern updates may receive access to the corrected version or notification that an update is available.
Current corrections or important pattern notes may also be posted on White Branch Knits when appropriate.
If you think you’ve found an error, please let me know. I genuinely appreciate knitters who help me make my patterns better.
Yarn, Gauge & Finished Results
Knitting has a lot of variables. Yarn choice, fiber content, gauge, needle material, individual knitting style, modifications, blocking, and other factors can all affect your finished project.
For the best results, I recommend checking your gauge and reviewing the pattern’s yarn and sizing information before beginning.
White Branch Knits cannot guarantee that your finished item will be identical to the sample shown in the pattern or photographs.
And while substituting yarn is absolutely part of the fun, you’re responsible for determining whether an alternative yarn is appropriate for your project.
Accessibility
I want White Branch Knits patterns to be as clear and usable as possible.
If you experience an accessibility issue with one of my pattern files, please contact me and let me know what would make the pattern easier for you to use. When reasonably possible, I’ll work with you to find a solution.
Questions?
Not sure whether something you’d like to do with a White Branch Knits pattern is permitted?
Just ask!
I’d much rather answer a question than have you wondering whether something is okay.
