A new name, a new chapter, and plenty of knitting ahead.

Welcome to White Branch Knits!

White Branch Knits has been a long time in the making. After more than 25 years of knitting, I decided it was finally time to build a place where I could share more of what I love about the craft—thoughtful patterns, helpful resources, and the kind of knitting that leaves a little room to make something your own.

White Branch Knits is starting small. Right now, you’ll find downloadable knitting patterns along with information about my technical editing services for knitwear designers. But I have plenty of ideas for where it can grow.

You’ll probably notice that nature finds its way into things around here. That’s no accident. I love being outside, traveling, camping, road-tripping, and exploring new places, usually with knitting somewhere within reach. Those things have a way of showing up in what I make.

So, what is the Journal?

This is where I’ll share the things that don’t quite belong on a product page.

You can expect behind-the-scenes looks at new designs, knitting tips and techniques, pattern stories, yarn and color inspiration, and probably the occasional adventure from the road.

I don’t intend for this to become a place where I post just because a calendar says I’m supposed to. I’d rather share something when I actually have something worth sharing.

A little about White Branch Knits

Knitting has been part of my family for generations. My mom taught me, and I’m at least a fourth-generation knitter. What started as a hobby more than 25 years ago has followed me through a lot of different seasons of life.

This happens to be a particularly big new season.

I recently traded Chicagoland for the Kansas City area and left my longtime career in local government to give myself the opportunity to pursue knitting, pattern design, and technical editing more seriously.

White Branch Knits is part of that adventure.

I’m excited to see what grows from here.

Thanks for being here at the beginning.
